A RECIPE FOR A BLESSED NEW YEAR

Several years ago a lady in my church gave me a recipe for a year of blessing.  As we begin this new year of 2018, I’d like to share this recipe with you in hopes that it will make the family of God here at LHCC a sweet tasting example of Christlikeness in this new year.

Begin by asking God for twelve whole months.  Then wash whatever He gives you clean of all bitterness, hate and jealousy.  Next cut up each month into twenty-eight, thirty, or thirty-one different parts equaling 24 hours each.  Make sure that you only prepare one day at a time using the following ingredients:

To each day add one part faith, one part patience, one part courage, and one part hard work.  Then stir vigorously in a cup of kindness. To each day fold in equal parts of hope, faithfulness, and generosity.  Blend in one part prayer, one part meditation, and one part good deeds. Season the whole with a dash of good spirit, a sprinkle of fun, a pinch of play, and a cupful of good humor.

Pour all of this into a mold of love.  Bake thoroughly over radiant joy, garnish with a smile, and serve with quietness, unselfishness and cheerfulness. You will then not only taste of the Lord and know that he is good, but you are bound to have a Happy New Year.      Pastor Mike
