Missions Praises/Prayers

Daren and Jodi Beck—ACTION International (Cambodia)

Praise:
Praise God for our Plovpit translation team who are preparing several new resources for release in the coming weeks.  o Praise for our faithful ACTION colleagues who minister under challenging circumstances among Frontier Peoples worldwide.

Prayer:
Pray for our teammates, Ryan & Rebekah Quey, as they finish preparing for furlough and anticipate moving toward the Laos/Vietnam border to minister among least reached (and minority) people groups.  o Pray specifically for our colleagues in South Asia where persecution is becoming increasingly commonplace.

Frank Erb—Capitol Commission (USA)

 Praise:
I have continued to have amazing meetings with agnostic legislative staff members at our State Capitol and am rejoicing as one seems to have just trusted in the Lord and God seems to be softening the hearts and minds of the others. Praying they desire to continue to meet with me often.   My wife Valerie has seen remarkable improvement in her blood pressure and so has been able to get completely off the medications that were making her feel so tired and sick.

 Prayer:
Dozens of newly-elected state Senators and Assembly Members will be arriving to our Capitol in early December and I will be there to welcome them and reach out to introduce myself to them and invite them to our weekly Legislators Bible Studies that I teach in the Capitol. Praying God guides greatly in this, as most of them will be non-believers and of course none are planning to connect with a pastor when they start serving in the Legislature.  o Year-end contributions make up a very large percentage of my annual support that enables me to serve full-time as a Pastor reaching out in our California State Capitol and beyond. Opportunities about but giving is down this year and so I appreciate prayer that God provides for what he wants done.

Henry and Grace Banda—YOLEDS (Youth Leadership Development in Sport) (Malawi)•

Jay Devers—Dynamic Church Planting International (Worldwide)

Praise:
Praise for the conference I attended in September with focus on dismantling the opposition of Islam to two billion people via the truth and love of the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am working with the main speaker, Jay Smith, in reproducing his excellent ground breaking material into an easy to read format. There was tremendous reception by many and these materials are now being put into the hands of Christians abroad.  o I was also in San Diego in September with our World Zone Leaders as well as reporting to supporting churches in Southern California. Plans are moving forward to do a training in March 2025 to provide our church planting materials to leader working in Libya.

Prayer
I will train in San Diego Jan 24-31, 2025. Please pray for great attendance and tremendous results. o Training results are coming in. At DCPI we hope to surpass the 100,000 leaders trained mark this year. Last year we trained 72,922. Please pray that God will help us to achieve this.

Karen Devers— Ripe for Harvest (Global)

I attended a Woman's march and day of prayer in Washington, D.C. The time was well spent and God was with us all. The speakers were wonderful and powerful as they spoke about all things going on in this world. There was a stage and 5 large screens so that everyone could be a part of it. A lot of encouragement to be involved, to be more active and involved.   o I was able to spend time with my sister and Emily, the athlete that I mentor while I was at the Woman's march. It was a wonderful time.

Prayer:
I am starting on writing a book. Please pray that God will lead me and show me what He wants me to say. o I am working on putting my team together. Please pray that God will lead me to the people He wants me to work with and that He will help me to train them.

Lincoln Christian Academy (formerly Community Christian School), Lincoln, CA (USA)•

Praise:

We are thankful for our supportive school Community and the connections that have already been reestablished in the first three weeks of school.   We have finalized our new WHY: To live for Christ so that others will love, grow, discern and bear fruit to glorify God.

Prayer:
Our main classroom building AC isn't functioning and our window units are not a long-term solution. Please pray that the company the church has hired to complete the AC installation of the new system schedules the work quickly. Please pray for protection over our staff and their families. Everything from personal health issues to family challenges is prevalent and affecting staff morale.

Michael and Irina—Slavic Gospel Association (Asia)

Praise:
God gave us a wonderful time during our summer visit to Turkey and the U.S. and a safe return home.  For my wife, Irina, and our two girls, Jane and Elizabeth. They are both doing well in school despite a slight challenge with the language. Irina has been a huge help for the girls.

Prayer:

Planning to visit a new village (Mago) with no believers. Pray for open doors to share Christ. Wisdom in preparing for winter Christmas programs in the villages.

Moses

Praise:
We are extremely busy and it is a joy to see that hundreds of widows have a hut for themselves, food on their plates and love and protection from Jesus. Above all, the trust that they have in Jesus is enormous although they can neither read nor understand the Bible. The stories from the Bible that we tell them encourage them very much and it is so much joy to experience this. Prayers of friends and by the Church has enabled us to serve and help them get rooted in Christ.  Praise for Godly friends and the Church at large for upholding us in all that we do.

 Prayer:
Pray for wisdom and protection of the Sangita Ministries since the government is very concerned about many issues. Need prayers for protection of our ministries being a Christian Charity.  Pray for the old and poor widows as we approach the Harsh Rainy Season.

Ruth Veltkamp—Set Free Ministries (Nigeria)

Praise:

Give thanks for a successful trip for Ruth to teach a 2-week module at West Africa Theological Seminary in Lagos, Nigeria. Thank God for students eager to learn of the need to make disciples of all nations, some of whom still have less than 1-2% Christians among them.  o Give thanks that 23 IMANI churches spread throughout Nigeria were able to give refuge to the 1,000 IMANI believers whose houses and goods were destroyed in the severe flooding in northeastern Nigeria in September.

Prayer:
For different reasons, all good, the trip by two IMANI leaders to the heart of the Middle East has been postponed until January. May God bless their preparations to strengthen new believers and to answer the questions of seekers.   Those believers who fled the flooding and took refuge with IMANI churches in other parts of Nigeria will have to decide whether to return back to northeastern Nigeria (Boko-Haram territory) as witnesses for Jesus, or to settle down permanently in the “safer” places where they have taken refuge. May they seek and receive wisdom from God in making these decisions.

Steve and Dawn Liberti—NAB Conference/Proclaim Ministries (Germany/Global)

Praise:
Praise God for a very fruitful evangelistic campaign in Albania October 4-24. Steve led a 10-person team to help small under resourced churches with evangelism outside the walls of the church, in public forum.   Praise God for the ability to enter 3 different prisons to minister to men and youth in these facilities. Our partner churches were encouraged and hundreds of people heard about the beauty of a life lived following our Lord Jesus Christ. The Gospel was proclaimed boldly and clearly with many people showing interest in knowing more.  •

Prayer:
Please pray for our ongoing recruiting efforts which get going towards the end of the year and early next year. As an organization, we will visit a number of Christian Universities in a few different states offering internships and other short term opportunities for young people to go out with us on a short term mission somewhere around the world. We are committed to play our part in raising up the new generation of Kingdom workers. Please pray for Dawn's mother, Marilyn. She had fallen and fractured a bone in her neck. She is healing well but her care needs are increasing. Dawn's father Bob passed away about a month ago and Dawn has been overwhelmed with caring for her mother's needs and taking care of the details of her father's death. Pray for Marilyn and for Dawn to draw close to the Lord during this intense time of honoring her parents.

Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge (USA)

 Praise:

We are so thankful for the three successful Galas we held in September. All three Galas were well attended by the community, family and friends of our students was well as many graduates and their families from past years. The theme this year was “Breakthrough” featuring many testimonies. We also celebrated our leaders, Dr. Randy and Dana Rowe, who marked forty-five years in ministry with Teen Challenge.  We are grateful for every prayer partner, volunteer, donor and those in our church family who invite Teen Challenge staff and students to come and minister at their churches on Sundays by sharing songs from our choir and testimonies from the students in our program. It helps to get the word out about Teen Challenge and we are grateful.

 Prayers:
For our students as we approach the holiday season. For those students who go home to celebrate with their families for Thanksgiving and Christmas, that it would be a wonderful time for them and that they would return safely. We would also like prayer for those students who are too new in the program to leave for the holidays and especially those who don't have a family to spend time with. We are so grateful for the staff and volunteers who come to the centers to make the holidays special for our students.  o Pray for our graduates as they transition back into life away from the center. For their continued growth as they get plugged into a home church, enroll in school or start a new job.
