Missions Praises/Prayers

Daren and Jodi Beck—ACTION International (Cambodia)

Praise:  We celebrated 22 years in Cambodia this week; Praise God for His faithfulness! Thank you for “holding the ropes” for the team all these years…we’re grateful for LCC   o Thankful that God sustained my Mom’s life after she suffered a stroke just before Christmas; praying for wisdom and discernment specific to long term rehabilitation. We believe that the Lord would have us help during this season of life alongside our family…we will be returning to the States. Daren will continue his role as Associate International Director with ACTION, focusing on Frontier Peoples around the world.

Prayer:   o Anticipating the celebration of ACTION’s 50th Anniversary in Manilla Philippines, please pray for a wonderful celebration. Please pray for our 350 workers spread out in over 40 countries.  o Blessed to see new workers being sent out among Frontier Peoples…continue to pray that we’d see additional folks sent into the Harvest.

Frank Erb—Capitol Commission (USA)

Praise:   Our daughter Hannah and her husband Ryan had their baby, our first grandchild, on January 22. Little Eliana, which in Hebrew means “God had answered”. Baby is healthy and a blessing. Her mom is exhausted and still trying to figure out how to care for an infant and also get some sleep.   I have been very busy rushing to reach out to every Assembly and Senate office in the Capitol, requesting personal meetings with all the Legislators and Staff members to discuss the Lord, and inviting all to one of our four weekly Bible Studies I teach in the Capitol. God is granting many great meetings and discussions! I thank God for how He is at work.

Prayer:   I teach Bible Studies every week in the Capitol for Senators, Assemblymembers, Staff and Lobbyists. This year I am teaching a new series titled “God and Government” where we discuss many Bible passages related to government service. It’s an exciting but also a sensitive topic in the Capitol where all are welcome to our meetings and many people’s entire lives are focused on political battles, often on opposite sides of parties or issues, so praying God guides me in studying for and teaching this series. All are welcome to listen in via Zoom also.   o Many of our state Legislators seem overwhelmed this year. It’s always busy, but this year is particularly so with a huge number of new legislators and staff who are still learning how things work, the new U. S. President and change of political party control in Washington DC and the state’s response to such things, the immensely destructive fires in Los Angeles, plus other things. All of this has made it more difficult for Senators and Assembly members to attend the Bible Studies I teach even if they are interested. Please pray God draws many more to make time in their full schedules to participate.

Henry and Grace Banda—YOLEDS (Youth Leadership Development in Sport) (Malawi)

Praise:   Thank God for His faithfulness to me and my family. The Lord is sustaining my health.  o Praise the Lord for the doors He is opening to reach out to more souls through the Gospel. We work with local churches to evangelize. This strategy builds churches numerical growth and spiritual growth.

 Prayer:
Pray for success of all our yearly ministry sports and outreach programs.    Pray for God to provide resources, our economy is not doing well. We need finances to buy Bibles, evangelism and discipleship materials, transport, etc.

Karen Devers— Ripe for Harvest (Global)    Praise:   I am in a new mentoring relationship with Maud Hanson, a French missionary with Acts International. She is doing pioneer work with her organization so it’s my joy to walk alongside her during this season. Praise God for the time together while she was visiting her home church in Denver, Co.    The Southern USA ministry trip at the end of January was pivotal for Emily who happened to be dealing with challenging issues just days before I arrived. Prayer was the key needed for freedom. Praise God for the 2 days together to seek the Lord together and with others. The visit ended with Emily finding great freedom and release giving her strength to step into full-time training again as a member of the rowing team.  •

Prayer:
I returned from the MICN Recharge conference on March 4th. I was 3 days in Thailand for prayer and encouragement. MICN is pioneering more prayer for the churches and leaders across the network and I have been invited to lead this. It was a joy to meet these leaders and start to find out their prayer needs for their family and church.  o Jay and I will be selling our home in Lincoln in mid-April as we plan to move to Michigan to help with aging parents who still live on a small farm. We ask for prayers for our living situation when we arrive in Michigan. May God give us wisdom and favor as we make this big move asking for guidance and direction that will give Him glory!

Lincoln Christian Academy, Lincoln, CA (USA)

Students and parents had a great time exploring God’s incredible creation, and our amazing judges recognized that top three students in each grade for their hard work. It was a fantastic evening of learning and fellowship.  o We are grateful for God’s faithfulness as one of our administrators is our due to an autoimmune illness. He has provided strength and energy to Jenny as she manages additional responsibilities on-site. His blessings on our school are always abundant.

Prayer:
As enrollments opens, we ask for prayers that God will bring the students and families He has planned for our school. We also pray for His financial provision for Lincoln Christian Academy.  o Our school has a heart for serving, but we are seeking new opportunities to make an impact. We pray that God will reveal when, where, and how we can serve our community and share His love through our actions,

Paul and Grace Moses—India Sports Ministry/Sangita Charitable Trust/Widows’ Program (India)

Praise:   It has been one of our highest privileges to be prayed for by godly people like your congregation, friends and leaders towards our ministries and our own behalf.

Prayer:
o Please pray for Sangita ministries, health and well being of our Sangita children, widows, the tribals, widowers and special needs people.  o Please pray for favor from the authorities and continued favor as always from above that we will always be open to His calling to whatever He wants us to accomplish.  o Please uphold us as always for health, strength and wisdom to stay faithful towards His calling, for new avenues to take the good work into the communities in order to speed up the purpose for which this was started.

Ruth Veltkamp—Set Free Ministries (Nigeria)

Praise:   Thank God for a successful three-week seminar in the heart of the Middle East led by two IMANI teachers from Nigeria. Pray that God will give these two teachers wisdom as they continue to answer questions by phone.     Northeastern Nigeria is where students still learn the Qur'an by copying a passage on a wooden slate, reciting the passage until they have memorized it, and then washing off the ink, and repeating the process with a new passage. Recently many of these students' Qur'anic teachers have become interested in the Gospel to the point of giving their students passages from the Arabic Bible to copy, recite and memorize.

Prayer:
This Ramadan many of these students are going home with Arabic Bibles. May the Word of God spread rapidly and with great effect through these students and these Bibles.  o Some of the Tuareg people (99.9% Muslim) from the Sahara Desert have moved south into Nigeria where a group of IMANI Christians have welcomed them. May God cause these Tuareg people who are hearing the gospel for the first time to become the beginning of a movement to Jesus among the 3,725,000 Tuaregs.

Steve and Dawn Liberti—NAB Conference/Proclaim Ministries (Germany/Global)

Praise:  o Dawn and I praise God for His direction and leading in the life of Dawn’s mother Marilyn. She has turned a corner in her transition to life here in Jacksonville, Florida. She is doing better, making friends at her facility, attending church services every Sunday and making strides in her health journey. We praise The Lord for His hand on her life.    o We are celebrating the establishment of a new Proclaim Ministry Center in Serbia called “Ima Nade” Serbia (There is Hope). This is the result of many years of work in this country where Evangelical Christians make up a very small portion of the population. This ministry center will be a launch point for evangelistic ministry in this area of the Balkans. We pray that our dear friend Pastor Darko will be strong, energetic and fruitful as he leads this ministry for years to come.

Prayer:
Please pray for an upcoming short-term mission to a closed country March 20-30. Steve will be joining a team who will visit and partner with underground churches and ministries who are working in this country where evangelism is illegal. That will not deter us and so please be in prayer for our ministry partners on the ground, our team and for many to come to the saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. May God open doors, hearts, ears and minds for The Gospel.   o Please pray for ongoing recruitment work Proclaim is focusing on this time of year. God has already led many young people to join us either our on short term mission or long-term internships. We are dedicated to presenting opportunities to young people to get out on mission as we do our part in raising up the next generation of Kingdom workers.

Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge (USA)

Praise:   We are thankful for the opportunity that our students had from our Twin Rivers Women’s Center to be able to minister together at Crossroads Community Church in Yuba City this past Sunday. They shared songs and testimonies and had fellowship with those in the congregation.  o We are thankful for all the changed lives that walked the stage to get their completion and graduation certificates and share what the Lord had done in their lives at our recent Graduation Ceremony. It was so nice to see their proud family members in attendance and share in the celebration.    •

Prayers:
For the Lord's blessing upon our upcoming Redding Golf Tournament to benefit our Happy Valley Women and Children’s Center in Anderson. Although this tournament is not until May 16th, registration is open now and we would like prayer for the event to fill up. This is a fun event for our ladies and for the golfers who participate. The ladies learn what it takes to hold an event like this, like registering our golfers and holding a silent auction. They will also be sharing their testimonies of what God has done in their lives.   For the additional staff members needed at our centers.
