Pastor Jody and Tricia Shorkey

Senior Pastor

Pastor Jody joined our staff as our Associate Pastor on January 1, 2020. He was unanimously called to be our Senior Pastor on January 1, 2024 following Pastor Mike Bradaric’s retirement. He and his wife Tricia were raised in Southern California. They moved to Lincoln in 1997 with their two sons and daughter.  It was at the First Baptist Church of Lincoln that Jody answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since that time, he has pastored several churches in Yuba and Placer counties.  Tricia had worked as a school clerk in the Western Placer County Unified School District before her retirement. Jody and Tricia’s three grown children and two grandchildren, all live in Placer County.  During their twenty-plus years in Lincoln, Jody has been involved in various activities like Christmas food drives, youth organizations, Gideons International, and a speaker at local schools as well as other organizations. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology and another in Biblical Theology from William Jessup University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies at Liberty University.  We praise God for bringing Pastor Jody and his lovely wife Tricia into our church family.

Pastor J.R. and Carol Griggs

Associate Pastor

Pastor J.R. serves as our Associate pastor at Lincoln Community Church. His enthusiasm for serving God and leading the LCC family in worship through music comes out clearly during our Sunday morning worship services. J.R. and his wife Carol previously served as Associate Pastor before moving to Arizona in 2018. But God had other plans for J.R. and he and Carol felt the tug to be back near their family in California. He was called to be our Worship Pastor in August 2022 and subsequently called to once again be our Associate Pastor in January, 2024. J.R. and Carol have been married over 57 years and live in Lincoln.   We are delighted to have J.R. and Carol back with us at Lincoln Community Church!

Bryan Cicero

Facility Manager

Bryan Cicero has served in the Public School System for 6 years as a special education teacher, along with 3 years serving as assistant associate pastor at Loma Rica Community Church. The last 6 years he was the inclusion specialist teaching 9-12th grade English in Tracy Unified School District. In that role he provided the support to those in need, as well as supporting both para educators and students. He was there to serve in their growth as individuals at West High School within that District. Throughout those years of service, he came to realize that the only real way to make a true difference in people’s lives is to introduce them to the light of our world Jesus Christ. This new calling to serve faithfully at Lincoln Community Church lets him do that in a new and exciting way. Bryan believes that our service to God, requires our full surrender to God’s will for his life in all areas. He considers this calling to serve as your facility manager as part of that devotion, and will do it with all his heart, mind, body, and spirit. “God draws a straight line with a crooked stick.” By: Pastor Jody. Growing alongside others as we keep our eyes on Jesus each step of our path.

Jim and Denise Brown

Office Administrator/Organist

Jim Brown serves as our Office Administrator, as well as our Organist. So, you might say that he wears two hats around Lincoln Community Church! Jim was born in Torrance, CA and moved to Roseville at a very young age when his father took a job transfer to the area. His parents were both musical with his father being a trained tenor soloist and his mother being an accomplished pianist and organist. Because of being around organ music most of his childhood, he developed a love and interest to the organ and began to study the instrument following high school graduation. A year and a half later, Jim landed his first professional position as organist when he was hired to play at Big Top Pizza in Carmichael. His first church organist position was when he was hired to play at Arcade Baptist Church in Sacramento. He then served at Centerpoint Church in Roseville before moving to Spokane, WA with his family in December 2005. During the eleven years that they lived in Spokane, Jim also served as organist in several churches around that area. His last organist position in Spokane was at Opportunity Presbyterian Church. Jim and his family moved back to Lincoln, CA in November 2016 and was led by God to Lincoln Community Church in January 2017 where he became organist in March 2017. He then became Office Administrator in August 2017 following the retirement of the previous Office Administrator. Jim and his wife Denise have one daughter, and live in Auburn.
